Show Schedule:
Alaskats
coordinates two full Championship and Household Pet
cat shows each year. One show is during the Anchorage
Fur Rondy Festival. These shows are TICA sanctioned
with licensed, professional judges from across the world.
Additionally Alaskats sponsors household pet fun shows
throughout the year including one during the Eagle River
Bear Paw Festival. The shows are a showcase for the
different breeds of cats including household pet (mixed-breed)
cats, through which we encourage pet owners to provide
responsible pet care and to promote the spaying and
neutering of pets.
While
many people know what happens at dog shows, comparatively
few know what actually takes place in a cat
show. Cats do not perform as the dogs do, but are
handled by the judges and evaluated against the standard
set for the breed.When not being judged the cats stay
in cages which the exhibitors decorate up and often
provide information on their cat. Be sure to check out

shows!
